People asked who are getting the most kickbacks from the health insurance industry? The Democrats, that’s who. Sen. Max Baucus, a leader in the troubled effort in Congress to write a health care overhaul bill, has received more campaign donations from the health industry than any elected federal official except President Barack Obama and three other senators. And Democrats want us to believe that the bill will be bad for health insurance companies and good for us?

I hear the NT City Council made only two changes to the mayor’s budget and then voted those changes down. The mayor’s budget must’ve been very good if five council members and the city treasurer decided to make no changes to it.

Since when are you allowed to park vans and cars on sidewalks near a fire hydrant on Young St., in Tonawanda? Or do you have to be a squealer to get away with it? I parked on the street 20 feet away from a fire hydrant and was ticketed $10. What gives?

Congresswoman Louise Slaughter says the 53 percent of people who don’t want Obamacare are not her constituents. I’m not a person to her, and that is a major insult. This lady does not care about anyone’s opinion but her own, and she loves her power.

I don’t believe that the American Legion 264 is being very fair to their veterans. Now, I’m a veteran for a long time. I deserve the right to belong to a private club with private services, and meet good people. I pay my dues, every single year, and I go according to the rules, yet some person can come right off the street and get the same privileges as I do, and I don’t feel that that’s right. They say that they don’t have enough customers. But, apparently the VFW 7545 has a private club. Other organizations have private members, and the reason that they do that is that they feel they have a home that they can go to, and it’s a privilege that they have because they served their country.

Mayor Soos shows the tax rate going down $.05, but my assessment went up $35,000. I don’t think that $.05 is going to make me save a whole lot of money; I think the $35,000 is going to make me lose a lot of money. So, it’s a numbers game. He’s throwing numbers at you, when the truth is $35,000 higher that I’m going to be taxed on.

I just want to say what a great job DPW did following Labor Day. Tuesday they came and they cleaned up Elmwood Avenue very well. Everybody bashes them, but they did a very good job on Elmwood Avenue.

To the person who thinks sex offenders should get a lobotomy: wow! I certainly agree that they should be punished; however, I am also scared of people like you who obviously enjoy the punishment! How does that make you better than them?

To all of the women working in North Tonawanda High School's main office: try being nice some time it might get you further in life.

Let’s see, Mayor Pilozzi has taken credit for the city's credit rating, home improvement law, and Spaulding Fibre. What will be the next thing he takes undeserved credit for? The removal of the hump on State Street and improvements on Main Street?
