Tonawanda News — So, Walmart is going to give jobs to veterans? That’s great. But who will have to be cut to make openings for them? And they want to give full time hours to part time employees? How come our local Walmart cut full time hours for a lot of their full timers? To make room for all the veterans they want to hire? Will this be creating another problem? I for one will now have to look for full time employment elsewhere to pay the bills as I lost my full time status and most of my hours. Rotating the unemployment around solves nothing.

So we’re still taking excessive amounts of time to work to get all the properties to extend Meadow Drive. It’s been 5 or 6 years since we got the money (which I’m certain won’t be enough to cover the project) and we’re still working on this. Has the city closed because we haven’t extended it? Did we miss out on any businesses coming because we didn’t extend it? No. Why are we still working on this unneeded project? Is it because our politicians don’t want to admit that their idea isn’t really necessary? They’ll hold a big ribbon cutting, maybe even let the mayor be the first to drive down the street, all to the clicks of cameras and political speeches on what a great day it is for North Tonawanda. Seriously folks, is this going to change one thing in this city other than cause my taxes to go up to fund the project? No.

Did the News run an article on the new City of Tonawanda Superintendant for our Schools? Hear he is a great choice and surprised no article unless I missed it.

I read every day about people sounding off about sidewalk snow removal, Christmas lights shining in their windows, gun ownership… My sound off is about the fact that the City of North Tonawanda has synchronized the traffic lights with the city speed limit. This means that if we travel at 30 mph we do not hit every traffic light at red. The wear and tear on my car to start and stop at every light on Oliver Street not to mention the gas usage is increased because people travel at 20 mph. The speed limit is synchronized with the lights for a reason people. The normal function of traffic lights requires sophisticated control and coordination to ensure that traffic moves as smoothly and safely as possible, and to minimize delay to people using the road.

How about all of you people fighting to keep your guns follow me around and protect me from bad guys with guns.

To correct the people calling people lazy about bringing down their Christmas decorations: The last day of Christmas is Jan. 6. It’s called the Epiphany. There are 12 days of Christmas. You can’t call them lazy until after that, goofball.
