n WHEATFIELD HURRICANES FASTPITCH TRAVEL SOFTBALL: Tryouts for the upcoming 2009 and 2010 seasons for the 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U Wheatfield Hurricanes fastpitch travel softball teams will be held at Niagara-Wheatfield High School. n HARBOR HOOPS 3-ON-3: The eighth annual Harbor Hoops 3-on-3 basketball tournament will be held at 9 a.m. on Aug. 15 at Clark’s Park, next to the Wilson Boathouse. n O’HARA MINI-CAMP: Cardinal O’Hara High School in the Town of Tonawanda will be offering a mini basketball camp for boys in grades three through 10 from 8 a.m. to noon July 27-29. n HOCKEY CLINIC: The Niagara Wheatfield Falcons will host a hockey clinic beginning Aug. 17. The cost is $110 and all proceeds will benefit the Falcons Varsity hockey program. n TOWN OF TONAWANDA CAMP: The Town of Tonawanda will hold a free field hockey camp at the Phillip Sheridan Building from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 24-Aug. 28. The camp is open to all Ken-Ton girls who will be entering fifth- through eighth-grade in the fall, and will focus on fundamental skills and mechanics. n GET UP, GET MOVING CAMP: Niagara University’s Recreation Dept. is taking registrations for its Get Up, Get Moving Camp, which helps improve the fitness and wellness of athletes and non-athletes through aerobic-based activities. The camp is available for ages 8 to 15 and is a four-week camp, with Session II running Aug. 11, 13, 18 and 20. n TOWN OF TONAWANDA CAMP: The Town of Tonawanda will hold a field hockey camp at the Phillip Sheridan Building from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 24-Aug. 28. The camp is open to girls who will be entering fifth- through eighth-grade in the fall.

n CHEER ELITE CAMP: NCCC will host the camp Sunday through July 23. It is open for ages 8-18. It has a resident camper fee of $425, and a commuter fee of $350. The staff includes Stephanie Mateczum, director for the NFL Buffalo Jills Cheerleaders, and Kelli Wagner, the Jills’ choreographer. n NORTH TONAWANDA FLAG FOOTBALL: North Tonawanda’s Recreation Department is offering a 5-on-5 flag football league for youth ages 11 to 18. The league is free of charge for all NT residents and includes referees, scorekeepers and a playoff format. League games are twice per week at Payne Park, with the 11-13 age bracket playing on Mondays and Thursdays, the 14-15 age group on Wednesdays and Fridays, and the 16-18 division on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Games start tentatively at 4 p.m. Monday-Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturdays. Participants must register individually but may request to be on the same team with friends. n NIAGARA PAL GOLF AND DINNER: The Niagara Police Athletic League Great Niagara Steakout 4th annual dinner and golf outing is set for Aug. 5 at the Hyde Park Golf Course and Oasis. n NORTH TONAWANDA FRISBEE (DISC) GOLF: North Tonawanda’s Recreation Department is offering a Frisbee (disc) golf league for youth ages 11 to 18. The league is free to all NT residents.
