NT's Jastrzemski among all-stars

North Tonawanda's top defensive standout last fall and first-team All-Tonawanda News linebacker, Jed Jastrzemski, is among a strong contingent of locals selected to play in the 2012 Kensington Lions All-Star Classic which will take place later this month at 7 p.m., July 25 at Depew High School.

Jastrzemski (Erie Community College) had 95 tackles during his senior season for the Lumberjacks. He'll suit up for the North squad along with fellow NT alumni and offensive lineman Mike Grimaldi (undecided).

Tonawanda receiver/defensive back Kyle Gallivan (Alfred State) has also been tabbed to play for the North.

Meanwhile, Class AA North champion Kenmore West will be well-represented in the classic. League Offensive Player of the Year and Connolly Cup finalist Martin Bailey (undecided) will line up in the backfield for the North. Bailey set  a Kenmore West record for most touchdowns and points (156) in a single season. He racked up 1,252 yards and 25 touchdowns this past fall.

He'll play behind standout left tackle Brandon Lathrop (Buffalo State). Blue Devils defensive back Nick Hersey (Union College) will don blue for the North as well.

Other locals who'll grace the grid iron for one last high school game are Kenmore East's Jordan Wainwright (Erie Community College), St. Joe's receiver Kyle Briggs (Mercyhurst), Yanni Zulia (Rochester), lineman Jordan Sanders (Brockport) and Cardinal O'Hara running back Kyree Carter (Erie Community College).
