BILLS: Witter's signs deal to host TV show

North Tonawanda, NY — Bills fans in the Twin Cities won’t have far to go to hear the latest football talk from some of the players themselves.

Witter’s Sports Bar & Grill, which hosted a live taping on Monday of the Buffalo Bills TV show “Out of Bounds,” will host the filmings through the rest of the season.

“We actually signed a contract with Ghostline Entertainment that the show will be taped at Witter’s every single Monday for the next 14 weeks, obviously excluding the byes,” said Peter Witt, who co-owns the restaurant with his wife Shelley.

Ghostline Entertainment, which produces the show, posted on its Facebook page Tuesday that it had made Witter’s the exclusive venue to tape the show. Previously, the show was filmed at a different venue each week.

The deal is exciting news for the bar on Oliver Street in North Tonawanda. The Witts bought the former Soos’ Oliver Street Cafe last September and haven’t been open even a full year but have already snagged the show, co-hosted by former Buffalo Bill Demeris Johnson, along with Janet Snyder of WKSE 98.5 FM and WGRZ-TV.

“We’re psyched,” Peter Witt said about the taping earlier this week, which had Bills receiver Lee Evans as the featured guest.

Johnson and Snyder interview Bills players about the team’s recent and upcoming games, and also feature segments that allow fans to get to know more about the guest players. At Monday’s taping, inactive wideout Steve Johnson performed a rap about Buffalo.

Monday’s live taping is scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Witter’s. The scheduled guests, which are subject to change, include running back Fred Jackson, who had a career day in Sunday’s win over Tampa, and rookie Jairus Byrd.
