NORTH TONAWANDA

NTCS sponsors meat raffle

A meat raffle to benefit North Tonawanda Catholic School will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday in Monsignor Szabo Hall at the school, Vandervoort and Keil streets, North Tonawanda.

The first raffle of the evening will be at 7 p.m. with grand prizes and other raffles featured.

Tickets are $5 presale and $6 at the door and are available by calling the school at 693-2828. Tickets include a sandwich or pizza, beer, wine, soda, coffee, snacks and dessert.



Sikora Post hosts spaghetti dinner

A spaghetti dinner will be hosted from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Sikora American Legion Post No. 1322, 950 Payne Ave., North Tonawanda.

Dinner includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread and butter and beverage for $6. Choice of homemade dessert is $1.50.



‘Thumb Box Exhibition’ opens at Partners in Art

The Buffalo Society of Artists is bringing back its historic “Thumb Box Exhibition” which features small works by members of the society from Saturday through March 26 at Partners in Art Gallery, 74 Webster St., North Tonawanda.

A reception from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday will open the show. All are invited.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

MSM class of ‘60 plans reunion

Plans for the 50th reunion of the 1960 class at Mount St. Mary Academy in Kenmore will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Ruth Frawley and Barbara Strzyz are co-chairmen of the reunion planned on Sept. 18.

Unemployment survival topic of event

“How to Survive a Layoff,” a program on saving money, using credit cards wisely and managing finances while unemployed, will take place at 7 p.m. March 10 at Kenilworth Branch Library, 318 Montrose Ave., Town of Tonawanda.

Learn how to get into the process of networking and establishing a resume.

The seminar is presented by Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Buffalo.

Soup & Devotions set at TFMC

Tonawanda Free Methodist Church, 207 Grove St., City of Tonawanda, will host Soup & Devotions at 6 p.m. Wednesday with chunky chicken barley soup featured.

The event will continue every Wednesday through March 24 with a different soup menu each week.

Call 693-1199 if you plan to attend. Donation is $5 for adults, $4 for those age 60 and older, and free for children under age 10.



Theme basket auction set at fire hall

St. Johnsburg Ladies Auxiliary will host its annual theme basket auction on Sunday at St. Johnsburg fire hall, 7165 Ward Road, Wheatfield.

Doors open at 11 a.m. and at 2 p.m. drawings will begin.

Admission is $5 and includes 25 tickets, beverage and dessert.



Buffalo Stamp Club hosts show

The centennial of the founding of the Boy Scouts of America will be the theme of the Buffalo Stamp Club show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at VFW Leonard Post, 2450 Walden Ave., Cheektowaga.

Parking, admission and door prizes are free.



Boy Scouts celebrate 100th year

The Greater Niagara Frontier Council Boy Scouts of America will hosts a 100th anniversary gala at 6:15 p.m. March 13.

Anyone interested in supporting the Boy Scouts is invited.
