Altar Society schedules meeting
The Altar Society of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, will meet after the 7 p.m. Mass Wednesday in the church hall, Center Avenue, North Tonawanda.
Hostesses will be Kathy Zoladz, Florence Najuch, Betty Najuch, Pat Chip and Dorothy Whitehead. New members are always welcome.

Chicken barbecue, raffle, set at church
A Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue and theme basket auction will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. March 13 at Grove Street Christian Church, 85 Grove St., City of Tonawanda.
Dinner tickets are $8.50 presale or $9 at the door and include dessert. Take-out or eat in. At 7 p.m., theme baskets will be auctioned.

Corned beef, cabbage dinner set
A St. Patrick’s Day corned beef and cabbage buffet dinner will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the Adam Street school hall at St. Francis of Assisi Church, City of Tonawanda.
Irish dancers and music will be featured.
Tickets are $10, $6 for children age 4 to 10 and free for children under age 3.
Tickets are available at the school office, the rectory and after all Masses.
Soup & Devotions set at TFMC
Tonawanda Free Methodist Church, 207 Grove St., City of Tonawanda, will host Soup & Devotions at 6 p.m. Wednesday with chunky chicken barley soup featured.
The event will continue every Wednesday through March 24 with a different soup menu each week.
Call 693-1199 if you plan to attend. Donation is $5 for adults, $4 for those age 60 and older, and free for children under age 10.

Anglican church hosts Bible study
A Friday night Lenten Bible study, “Are We Living in the Last Days?,” will be presented from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 5, 12, 19 and 26 at St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church, 2368 Eggert Road, Town of Tonawanda.

Fundraiser helps cancer research
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a purpose and help save kids from pediatric cancer at the “Cure Me I’m Irish” fundraiser from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Knights of Columbus hall, 261 Legion Drive, Kenmore.
Tickets are $25 with all proceeds going to the NB Alliance. The group raises critical funding for the research lab of Dr. Giselle Sholler and her team at Neuroblastoma Medulloblastoma Translational Research Consortium, which searches for a cure for from neuroblastoma. Live music, a DJ, Irish dancers, food, beer, wine, bake sale, and raffles will be offered.

Kidney disease class offered
The chronic kidney disease management class, “Take Control of Kidney Disease Through Knowledge,” will take place at 9 :30 a.m. Wednesday at the National Kidney Foundation offices, 300 Delaware Ave., Buffalo.
The 90-minute class taught by a registered dietitian is for individuals who have been diagnosed in the early stages of kidney disease.
The cost is $35 and is covered for the majority of Independent Health, Univera, and BlueCross BlueShield members.
