Hardwick plans visit to library
Erie County Legislator Kevin Hardwick will visit the City of Tonawanda Public Library from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday to meet constituents from the area.
Anyone with a question, who needs help with a problem or who just wants to meet the new county legislator is welcome.
NORTH TONAWANDA
Senior center offers three trips
The North Tonawanda Senior Center is offering three trips for seniors.
On March 11, a trip by motor coach will visit Gardenscape, a premier flower and garden show in Rochester. The cost is $68 and includes lunch.
On April 13, a trip to the Corning Museum of Glass includes the tour, lunch, art activity and shopping. The cost is $68.

On March 30, a trip to the Broadway Market in Buffalo is planned. Cost is $5 and is limited to 43 seniors.

OLC Holy Name schedules meeting
Our Lady of Czestochowa Holy Name Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the parish hall, Center Avenue and Oliver Street, North Tonawanda.
New members are welcome.
Free hearing screenings set
Audiologist Pamela Fleming, in conjunction with the Dale Association, will offer free hearing screenings and evaluations from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Monday at the North Tonawanda Senior Center, 110 Goundry St.

Supplements focus of Schofield program
A free program, “Confused On What Supplements to Take?,” will be hosted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Schofield Adult Wellness Center, 3333 Elmwood Ave., Town of Tonawanda.
The program will focus on what supplements to take and how to use supplements to maximize your health.

Forest owners plan potluck luncheon
The Niagara Frontier Chapter of the New York Forest Owners will host its annual potluck luncheon at noon March 6 at Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve in Depew.
Woodlot owners and their families in the Western New York area are invited.
Speakers for the event will be representatives of the WNY Land Conservancy, who will speak on woods-related topics and diseases impacting on forests and woodlots.
After the luncheon, participants are welcome to walk around the 292 acre complex of forests, ponds and wetlands.
The event is free and open to the public.

Historical program set at N-WHS
The Sanborn Historical Society will present a two-part program at 7:30 p.m. March 6 at Niagara-Wheatfield High School, 2292 Saunders Settlement Road, Sanborn.
“The Movin’ Dress” by Lorna Macdonald Czarnota and “America’s First Women Doctor” will be presented by Denise Reichard.
Tickets are $8, $5 for students and $7 for seniors.

Coast Guard Auxiliary offers boating class
A safe boating class, About Boating Safely, will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 6 at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church hall, 1395 George Urban Blvd., Cheektowaga.
The course offered by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary meets education requirements for jet ski, personal water craft operation and qualified youth to legally operate a conventional vessel.

Job applications for City of Tonawanda residents interested in seasonal work are available in the city clerk’s office at city hall.
Positions include laborers, pool/playground attendants, lifeguards, park attendants and Gateway Harbor attendants.
Anyone interested in a seasonal laborer position and available full time by April 15 should return completed applications to the clerk’s office by March 31.
All other applications must be returned by April 15. All applicants must be residents of Tonawanda and at least 16 years old by June 1. -
