Nearly 70 friends, coworkers and neighbors gathered Friday evening on Sunset Terrace in the Town of Tonawanda to participate in a candlelight vigil for Constance A. Shepherd, 42, who on May 20 was found dead in her home at 16 Sunset. Her 58-year-old husband Stephan Shepherd was arrested the next day and charged with second-degree murder in connection to the killing. Police found Stephan in the Town of Shandaken, located in Catskill State Park. The couple’s home — left to Constance by her late mother — had been seized and was auctioned on May 6. The new owners discovered her body.
